Spring?




The schoolchildren have a week holiday, but the daycarechildren
enjoy the beginning of spring.
You can still see some snow in
the background!



They are having a "teaparty" in the sandbox.


There is hope though, some flowers are trying to show


as well as some bushes.
The temperature is around 10 degrees C
daytime, but we had a few days of almost
summer at Easter.

Landscapes and sights of Okna

Our landscape is a landscape of little hills.


This is the castle Houska. It was built in the13th century. „Houska“ in English means „a bun“. This place is said to be the „hell's gate“.


This is the castle Bezděz.It is on the hill. It was a king´s castle. It was built in the 13th century. It is a dominant of our region. It can be seen also from the school garden.

This is Macha´s lake. It is a touristic centre.

This is the chapel in Žďár.

This is the Assumption church in Okna. It is a roman catholic church. It is baroque with a gothic origin.

"El Chorro de la Ventera" is one of my favorite places in La Vera.
The whole environment is a vast paradise of flora and fauna. Riverside trees, vegetation, vultures, eagles, reptiles, trout ...
The sound of nature is spectacular.
I love that place.

Alardos Gorge is situated in Madrigal de la Vera. It´s a Tietar river affluent. This Gorge forms some natural pools where you can cool down yourself relaxing. A Roman Bridge crosses this Natural Gorge surrounded by willows and ashes. This is a privilege that nature offers us.



Alardos Gorge River will die Tietar turn affluent of El Tajo. On their waythrough Madrigal de la Vera, throat forms several natural pools, which become a wonderful and impromptu pool
where a refreshing dip.

The most famous pools Gorge Alardos are in order of birth to mouth, Los Maquis, La Caldera, El Rubioso, La Paloma,
El Negro, El Cardenillo and pool or Old Bridge.

Prohibited fishing, camping (for which there are plenty of campsites and ruralhouses with luxurious adsequibles prices of services) and is not allowed to fire
